Sneha, a Nutritionist, is pursuing her Ph.D. as a Senior Research Fellow at the Symbiosis Centre for Medical Image Analysis, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune under the MJRP Project. She received her Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Applied Nutrition from ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad in 2015 and qualified UGC NET (LS) in 2014. Her Ph.D. research focuses on the impact of obesity on brain health – emphasizing the effect of adipose tissue deposition and subsequent low-grade inflammation on structural and functional alterations of the brain. She is aiming to capture the anatomical changes of the brain by using structural MRI modalities. She will be also using resting-fMRI and task-based fMRI to assess the functional alterations leading to cognitive dysfunctions. She is co-supervised by Prof. Kavitha Menon of SIHS, Dr. Sukhdev Mishra of ICMR, Ahmedabad, and Assoc. Prof. Bhushan Borotikar.
